Lord-Lieutenant Johnny Stewart was delighted to be joined at Arndean tonight to make the presentation of the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for 2022 to Home-Start Clackmannanshire. Chair Louise Orr. CEO Shelley Bowman and many of the charity's volunteers attended the ceremony when the award crystal and Certificate signed by Her Majesty the Queen were handed over after tea and home-made cakes had been consumed with enthusiasm.
This is the fourth recipient of this award in the County with the award having been started to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee twenty years ago. The work done by Home-Start in improving the lives and the life chances of children and families who find themselves in difficult circumstances has been rightly acknowledged in this very public way and gives them the national recognition they deserve.
