A very special night in the history of Sauchie. Lord-Lieutenant, Johnny Stewart, presented the Sauchie Community Group with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award available in the country to a voluntary group and is the group equivalent of the MBE.
Johnny Stewart told the packed hall that the work done by this group had made a significant contribution to the betterment of the lives of the local community and that his only regret that 2 other local groups nominated this year had not been successful. SCG was only the third group in Clackmannanshire to receive this award.
The photograph shows the Lord-Lieutenant handing over the award and the Certificate signed by Her Majesty the Queen to the SCG President accompanied by other SCG principals and Luke Graham, MP.
