The Lord-Lieutenant is delighted to learn that Marion Levitt, the Project Manager at women4women, has been awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Marion has held that post in the Alloa based organisation since February 2010 when it was set up. The aim of the group is to provide a confidential network for women who require emotional support during times of crisis linked to alcohol, substance misuse, domestic violence or any other issues affecting their general well being. The group offers one to one and group sessions as well as a 24 hour emergency helpline for immediate support.
Her contribution to this local cause was recognised in March 2014 when she was made joint Citizen of the Year of Clackmannanshire at a ceremony presided over by then Lord-Lieutenant, Sir George Reid. The picture shows her with the Certificate she received that night. She will receive the BEM at a ceremony to be organised locally later this year.
