The inaugural Lord-Lieutenant's Award for volunteering was presented last night by Vice Lord-Lieutenant John Spruce to Beth McDonald in a packed and very hot Hall at the Senior School Awards Evening.
Beth is an avid reader and author of published poems and has completed just shy of 100 hours of volunteering helping P1-P3 pupils to read as well as helping at Kid’s Clubs and at Tillicoultry Baptist Church. She also wrote and produced a recipe book to raise funds for Macmillan, a charity close to the hearts of many at Alva Academy.
