Vice Lord-Lieutenant John Spruce and wife Anne had the pleasure of attending the Dunmar House Hotel on Friday 19th August for a special evening in the lives of the local 26th Stirling (Alloa) Boys Brigade.
They were celebrating the 140th anniversary of the formation of The Boys’ Brigade, the upcoming 70th anniversary of their own company, the move from Moncrieff UF Church to Ludgate Church, and particularly the retiral from frontline duties of both John and Eileen Forrest who have amassed between them more than 100 years of service to the youth in Alloa, both through their professional careers as teachers and through their voluntary service in youth organisations.
John was happy to say a few words to mark the occasion and the photo shows him delivering his address to the top table and assembled company. Photograph courtesy of the Alloa Advertiser.
